Empath’s Life

Don’t

be apologetic

For feeling more than you see

For not losing the sense of esprit

For sticking to your belief

For hoping against hope

For having too much soul

For loving with your whole

For knowing more than told

The Optimism you behold

Some will term you quixotic

Some may call you absurd

Let it go unheard

Coz

Life of an Empath

Is a blessing

And curse both

      1. I’m very sensitive and so many try to make me feel bad for it but I’ve learned it’s better than being uncaring and unfeeling. Love you!!πŸ€—

  4. Sakshi this is beautiful, and true. When I first discovered the term for my ‘affliction’, I actually wrote a journal entry titled ‘Empathy – a blessing or a curse?’ I believed the curse outdoes the blessing. Now, years later, I feel that they’re both in motion, like waves, only rising turn wise, like tides.

    1. That’s so true Isha….. Both are in motion like tides …. I think we take time to understand our own reactions and feelings ……as each layer unveils we get a better understanding of ourselves …..and of course with time comes acceptance too

      1. Couldn’t agree more. Acceptance is key. And embracing. Has the urrrgh moments though, as you’ve said in an earlier comment! πŸ˜›πŸ˜

  6. I completely agree, I like to believe I am an empathetic person and my soul is always pulled in two different directions. I wish sometimes people show some empathy to emphatic individuals.

  17. Empathy is a lost term in many people’s dictionary. Neither they feel nor they want to feel. But well, drop by drop, piece by piece; someday when people are tired of the negativity, they will start caring about others…someday

  18. It is a blessing and a curse both! I guess we’d just have to keep balancing ourselves as precarious as the path is! Sigh.
