Silence

Silence speaks louder than words….

It sounds a bit absurd,

She talks and still feels unheard,

It hurts like being stabbed with sword.

***********

Silence she embosomed…..

Quarrels were cumbersome,

Expressing became seldom,

A new found wisdom,

She now believed the dictum.

*************

Silence speaks louder than words….

Her silence too was unheard,

In one corner she sat curled,

No one noticed, her head whirled

******************

She Rapidly got on her feet,

Took one step and hurled,

Oh it’s a noisy world,

I won’t be deterred,

My voice will be heard,

Consequences will be incurred.

*******************

If you have the power of words

Silence is for sure absurd

Let the world go berserk

Give your head a slight quirk

Look at them and now smirk.

  1. Silence is powerful and can be deafening when wielded at the right time. Silence can send many different signals if those deserving of it are in tune with it. Love this!

  2. Wonderful. Reminds me of WH Auden’s famous poem – “All that I have is a VOICE.” HAVE patience you’re being heard silently ! Keep it up. It was moving. The flow is great like a calm river. Thank you for sharing . Regards jay

  3. Beautiful poem, the expression of someone wanting to be listened to. There is a kind of silence that we all need for reflection and pause, but then there is this other type of silence that falls upon us like thunder. Your poem connects with the words of the famous song “The Sound Of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel:

“Fools, said I, you do not know
    Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence”

  4. Long ago, I was fiddling with some similar thoughts and wrote something along these lines as well. Reading your poem today felt like my deepest thoughts rewritten and it felt amazing ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I know very well Silence allows most people to rest their mind’s attention to things that are outside of their control and allows them to relax or to think about whatever they want. Some people are so used to noise, that they find silence unsettling. For some people, silence is a natural thing to cherish. … Silence has too much loudness. Thanks for sharing this information.
